Why draw Michele Lee's daughter?

Many of you may have heard of the controversy with some of DC's recent titles. Amidst all the snark and bruhaha, one voice stood out among the crowd of rehashed arguments surrounding sexism in mainstream superhero comics.

The voice of a seven year old girl.

This little girl wasn't taken in by the hype. She was a smart cookie. Some speculate she is a superheroine herself, carefully donning the guise of an ordinary seven year old to protect her family.

Whatever her true identity, she's pretty awesome. Let's draw her.

(P.s., remember that this girl will likely see this blog. Keep the comments clean, please^_^)

  1. I for one am not surprised that big company comics are still boys' club stuff and feminism is still a bad word. They're interested in selling the comics and you should think about who they're selling these comics to. They're not selling the comics to girls who want heroes, they're selling them to the predictable target market and a lot of inappropriate things can be typed about them.

We need more stuff like this made by girls for girls, about heroes that WE want to see. Check out one of my picture on Facebook, it's a picture of a green witch hero.
